Conduct counselling camps in villages, schools and colleges on the importance of hygiene in individual health.
Conduct fund raising events to support the activities of the Trust.
The Rohit Memorial Trust is a registered trust established to keep alive the memory of a strapping young lad, Rohit Anant Ganapati who succumbed to bladder cancer in the prime of his youth, in March, 2007. The Trust’s main aim is to reach out to help children of the world to get better lives…..better education……better health! Rohit strongly believed in the freedom of the human spirit and protected free enterprise in the youth around him. A staunch lover of mathematics and physics, he also loved music and dance, and…..his memory lives on in every tune….in every childish dream…..in every innocent smile!
Dr. Meenakshi Anantram who is the Vice Chairman of the Trust along with the Trust Chairman and her husband, Mr. Anantram Ganapati, have taken this age old philosophy of laughter therapy seriously and have adopted it as a means for palliative care for terminally ill patients especially children. Many others have also volunteered to join in this activity.
Medical clowning is definitely serious business and requires a person with a positive attitude to become a clown. Such clowns known better as Clown Doctors, entertain and recharge an otherwise seriously dull hospital environment into a lively, energy charged place.
The Trust has started a new initiative called B POSITIVE for upscaling the blood donation, in association with the A S RAJA VOLUNTARY BLOOD BANK, especially for pediatric cancer.
The thrust in this initiative is to educate women and teenager girls especially from the lower strata on the importance of menstrual and genital hygiene. Many other aspects like GOOD TOUCH BAD TOUCH, sexual abuse, etc.. are also being covered.
Gyan Pathasala is an initiative to help students improve their spoken English skills and in the process help them become effective and confident individuals.
The Trust is focusing on a few schools and help groom the students by conducting group discussions, elocution, debates and interviews with celebrities.
Project Gudiya is a unique Project of the Rohit Memorial Trust (RMT), which was conceived with the idea to promote therapeutic healing for pediatric cancer patients.
It is known that children get a lot of comfort and happiness in clutching on to toys especially when they are undergoing some stressful situation or during medical treatment for cancer and other ailments.
These hygienic soft toys in the shapes of Fish, Dogs, Elephants, Tortoisez, Giraffe, etc… are distributed to children who are undergoing treatment in hospitals. These toys are made by challenged women in an NGO called SAMPOORNA in Visakhapatnam.
Gyan Radio is positioned as a channel wherein a series of talks and interviews by the students mentored by the Trust, is showcased in both the video and audio formats, including podcasts.
The children speak and debate on various topics currently relevant to their education, health and lifestyle, in different languages. The shows are anchored by a RJ and in fact Season One has RJ Princey, a nine year old girl and each Episode also features a Special Guest.
